About the Role
Are you a detail-oriented payroll and benefits professional looking for an opportunity to make a real impact? As our Payroll & Benefits Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing the payroll for 575+ team members on a bi-weekly schedule, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. You will also oversee benefits administration, helping team members navigate and maximize their programs. Your work will directly support our team members’ experience, contributing to a smooth, reliable, and people-focused workplace.
What You’ll Do:
- Process accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll for 575+ team members, including regular pay, overtime, vacation, bonuses, and adjustments.
- Maintain payroll records, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial employment standards and legislation.
- Administer team member benefits programs, including health, dental, life insurance, RRSPs, and leave programs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for team members regarding payroll and benefits questions or concerns.
- Partner with HR and Finance teams to reconcile payroll accounts, review reports, and support audits.
- Continuously review and improve payroll and benefits processes for efficiency and accuracy.
- Prepare and submit statutory reporting, such asT4s and ROEs.
- Support HR initiatives related to compensation, team member onboarding, and offboarding.
- Stay current on payroll and benefits legislation and best practices to ensure compliance and accuracy.
What We’re Looking For:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business, or HR is preferred.
- Prior payroll and benefits administration experience in a medium to large organization.
- Strong knowledge of Alberta payroll legislation, EI, CPP, tax deductions, and related regulations.
- Experience with payroll systems (Dayforce or similar) and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills with a professional and approachable demeanor.
- Proactive, problem-solving mindset and a commitment to confidentiality and integrity.
