We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Controller to oversee the financial integrity and reporting of the organization. The Senior Controller will focus exclusively on the financial accounting functions, including general ledger management, financial reporting, audits, and compliance. This role will ensure that the company’s financial processes adhere to the highest standards of accuracy and compliance. Reporting to the CFO, the Senior Controller will work closely with internal teams to support the organization’s financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and ensure accurate and timely maintenance of the general ledger.
- Manage journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to maintain financial accuracy.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and analysis to support management decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and internal financial policies.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data accuracy.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage the preparation of audit documentation.
- Collaborate with the CFO to support the development of budgets and forecasts, including financial modeling and planning activities.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets, provide variance analysis, and recommend actionable insights.
- Lead and manage the finance team to ensure accurate and efficient workflows.
- Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to the finance team.
- Conduct performance reviews and foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.
- Optimize and streamline financial systems and processes for efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure proper documentation and archiving of financial records.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and recommend improvements as necessary.
- Assist the CFO with strategic financial projects and support ad hoc reporting and analysis requests from senior management.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to streamline processes and improve overall financial performance.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
Qualifications:
- CPA designation is required for this role
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Manufacturing industry experience
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar)
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, including team leadership
- Proven experience in financial reporting, AR/AP management and general ledger oversight
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
