Production Manager

We are currently looking for an experienced Production Manager to join our team. Interested?

Required Skills & Experience

· College or University education in related field and/or Journeyman Ticket in Welding

· Experience managing a production line in a fabrication environment

· Adequate knowledge of business and management strategies (budgeting, human resources, resource allocation, etc.)

· Proven track record of excellent customer service

· Solid relationship building and relationship maintenance experience

· Excellent computer skills and proficient in MS Office, email, internet, keyboarding

· Concise communicator who can work independently and within a team

· Meticulous organizer who continuously improves efficiency and effectiveness to achieve the right results

· LEAN Manufacturing experience is an asset

· Experience as a mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician would be an asset

Duties & Responsibilities

· Oversee and provide direction and leadership to the value stream of a product or product line.

· Establish team member priorities and assignments.

· Increasing production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards

· Dedication to improving the process and quality every day.

· Ensuring that production schedules are maintained; delivery deadlines are not missed; standardized work is being followed with quality and safety requirements being achieved.

· Material/process flow is maintained, and inventory levels are monitored.

· Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.

· Develop and implement LEAN manufacturing strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.

· Prepare reporting information and attend the weekly Monday morning leadership communication meeting

· Lead daily morning huddle/Hansei meetings.

· Respond to any equipment stoppages. Coordinate any equipment repairs/stoppages with the maintenance department.

· Partner with the HR and Health & Safety to manage our people.

· Team member relations/performance, performing progressive discipline actions when necessary.

· Team member training and development – ensuring employees in the department have the appropriate qualifications/training to perform their duties.

· Maintain a positive attitude and culture within the work environment
